(Truly Redeemed and Sanctified In Him)
The Command To Build God’s House
In this T.R.A.S.H. Talk, we are going to explore and consider a command that Yahweh gave to the Jewish people who had come out from exile in Babylon after 70 years of captivity, and how Yahweh spoke through a man named Haggai, in 520 B.C., to give the people renewed hope, encouragement, a promise, and an opportunity to have a change of heart. As we explore the days of Haggai, we will see some parallels to the very times we are currently living in as well as what lies ahead.
You may be thinking, “well, that was for the Jewish people,” but let me remind you that whether or not you are of Jewish descent is immaterial. All who have professed Yeshua (who we know is from the tribe of Judah) as their Lord and Savior have been grafted into the Branch (Himself); thereby, have come out of captivity from sin. The command for you and I today is to build God’s house for His glory and His honor.
1 Cor. 3:9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
16Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17If anyone [b]defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

A Brief Background for Context:
The ministry of Haggai began about 17 years after the end of Judah’s exile. Yahweh had sent the house of Judah into 70 years of captivity under the rule of the Babylonian empire because of their backsliding from Him. They had turned their hearts away from Yahweh and were doing what was evil in His eyes with their idolatry and disobedience. They had become a people far too comfortable in their sin and most had no clue just how deep they were in until it was too late.
Yahweh, in His infinite love, gave Judah ample time to repent prior to their captivity with words He spoke through His prophet, Jeremiah, and others. Rather than listen to the word of Yahweh and His true prophets, they remained in their personal comfort zones heeding the words of false prophets who spoke to their itchy ears, telling them the things they wanted to hear rather than what they needed to hear. They had made the house of God an abomination with their false religion and idolatry. So it came to pass that the people of Judah were invaded by Nebuchadnezzar’s army and hence began the captivity and utter destruction of the temple of Yahweh. The people of Judah who survived the invasion were forced to leave Israel and live in Babylon between 605 BCE to 538 BCE (many stayed longer). Only a remnant of people began to return to Israel once they were released by the Persian leader Cyrus the Great. Cyrus was sent in to conquer Babylon and ended the era of captivity for the house of Judah, thus fulfilling prophecy of the 70 years of captivity.
Keep in mind that over the course of 70 years a new generation of Jews had been born while in captivity. Many of them and their parents had repented and turned back to Yahweh once they realized the error of their ways. They had a developed a new appreciation for all Yahweh had done for their people and saw His grace upon them to live rather than to be killed. During the 70 years, Daniel played a key role in their redemption from Babylon. He refused to bow down to the kings and he prayed for repentance for his people. They knew what they had taken for granted with blatant disregard to their God prior to their exile from the land of Israel. With their newfound freedom to go back into their promised land, they vowed to worship Yahweh. According to scripture, Judah spent years getting themselves settled and comfortable in their “panel houses” but didn’t think it was time yet to rebuild the temple of Yahweh that lay in ruins. Yahweh had been patient but was not pleased.
520 BCE
As the Jewish people continued to return to the land of Israel, The word of the Lord came by (through) Haggai to Zerubabbel, the governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the High Priest, for the people commanding them to build Yahweh’s house. This was a command, not a request. Time was of the essence and there would be a cause and effect relationship should the command not be fulfilled. In order for this to be accomplished, it would require a self-examination of the people to see where their hearts and priorities really were. Read chapter 1 of Haggai. You will see that twice the people are told to “consider their ways.”
Since we are to always look for Yeshua in scripture, it’s good to do a little research to see how He has revealed Himself since the beginning of time throughout history. One way is to find out what certain names mean and why those with specific names were called for a particular purpose.
Zerubbabel means ‘The seed of Babylon” representative of how quickly God’s people integrated into the Babylonian social structure and had turned from Him.
Joshua the High Priest means “God is deliverance” also pronounced Yeshua, who is our High Priest after the order of Melchizedek.
Haggai means “Festival, festival sacrifice, festive” – Yeshua is the fulfillment of the Festival (feasts) with the Spring Festivals having already been fulfilled and and Fall Festivals still to come.
Fast Forward to Our Current Time – 2024 AD or Nissan 5784 Hebrew Calendar
Since 30 AD and today we are under a New Covenant with Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ). Thousand of years since the Old Covenant days of Haggai, Zerubabbel, and Joshua and yet the message is the same. We have a command to build Yahweh’s (God’s) house. In Old Testament times, the physical temple was made by man with the hands of man, which served as a type and shadow of what was to come. The physical temple could not stand and did not profit the people. In the New Testament era, we are the temple of Yahweh, not made by the hands of man. Yeshua alone can profit the people.
The Parallel
In December 2023, we were given the below word from Yeshua saying:
“Tell My people, 2024 is the year to strengthen the pillars of My house or they will not be able to withstand what is to come.”
We marvel and are humbled at the unfailing Love from our heavenly Father and the fact that He loves us so much that He speaks to us today so as to prepare His body and equip us with what we need, when we need it. We need only to heed His word. The first few months of 2024 has been a time of prayer and fasting to reflect on the pillars Wisdom has hewn out in us and discover what remains to be strengthened within us (the house of Yahweh, our God.) Beloved, 2024 is a critical year, as 2025 will bring upon us a major shift.
Today, we are living in similar times and many who have integrated with Babylon’s social structures (if you will) will try to deny it (but Truth is Truth). We have governments that refuse to listen to the word of Yahweh. They are so busy building their own kingdoms and taking everyone down their path that we are once again about to experience Yahweh’s justice upon the land. Nations that profess to be founded on Christian values have been found wanting and their kingdoms are being weighed in the balances of the court of heaven. Has the gavel hit the table? It sure seems like it or is really close to coming down! We are as people trapped in some sort of captivity and the slave masters are wanting to make the burdens even more heavy upon Yah’s people. HOWEVER, Yeshua has been standing before the Righteous Judge of the Universe (Yahweh), making intercessions for those called by His Name and in Yahweh’s infinite mercy, there is a call– “Tell My people, 2024 is the year to strengthen the pillars of My house or they will not be able to withstand what is to come.”
It is time to come out of captivity and come out from among every stronghold that has held you in captivity from the things of Yeshua. Since the beginning of time, Yahweh has provided us every good thing and gift from above to walk in the redeeming power of His Love. Do you understand this? Yahweh HAS provided us every good thing and gift from above to walk in the redeeming power of His love. He has given us everything we need to say no to the corruption and darkness of this world. We need only to heed His word. When we heed His word, we find power, strength, healing, blessings, and build relationship with Him through His Son, Yeshua and the Holy Spirit. It’s true! Today, my beloved, we need this more than anything.
2 Peter 1:2-4: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (NKJV)
STRENGTHEN THE PILLARS OF THE HOUSE
Wisdom has built her house and hewn (carved out; set up) out her seven pillars – Proverbs 9:1
Before going over the seven (7) pillars of Wisdom’s house, let’s look below at the meaning from the Strong’s concordance for better understanding of what pillars are and what the House of God (Yahweh) is:
Pillar; Stump – The Hebrew word matzevah is derived from a root meaning ‘to stand’.
Pillar; Column – Stand; Be Steadfast in the Faith
If our spiritual house pillars are not a firm foundation and correctly built, our faith will not be steadfast, and when shaken, we will not be able to stand firmly on the rock of our Salvation. Rather, the house will be like the house built on sand and when the storm came, it fell.
You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. – 1 Peter 2:5
Living stones – θοι ζῶντες, living stones (see ζάω, as above), of which the temple of God is built, 1 Peter 2:5; of the truths with which, as with building materials, a teacher builds Christians up in wisdom.
Spiritual house – (Spiritual = 4152 pneumatikós (an adjective, derived from 4151 /pneúma, “spirit”) – spiritual; relating to the realm of spirit, i.e. the invisible sphere in which the Holy Spirit imparts faith, reveals Christ, etc.1 Peter 2:5; equivalent to produced by the sole power of God himself without natural instrumentality, supernatural ; (House – A dwelling place; a body of Christians (Grk. Ekklesia; church), as pervaded by the Spirit and power of God.
Sacrifices –2378 thysía – properly, an offering (sacrifice); an official sacrifice prescribed by God; hence an offering the Lord accepts because offered on His terms; b. in expressions involving a comparison: θυσίαι πνευματικαι (see πνευματικός, 3 a.), 1 Peter 2:5; θυσία, a free gift, which is likened to an offered sacrifice.
Yeshua spoke often to His disciples about Him building His house (His church), but this was not new news, as the Old Testament spoke of the same spiritual house (the latter temple/rain) and how our Redeemer Yeshua would rebuild the former temple’s glory/rain (old Covenant) and it would not compare to that which Yeshua would come and build His house upon the Rock and He’d be the chief cornerstone. The prophet, Haggai, spoke of this latter temple. Although the people were commanded to rebuild a physical temple that Yahweh had destroyed, he assured them that there was yet a better one to come and would be filled with His glory and of which would be filled with peace.
Haggai 2:6-9: “For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
King David said in Psalm 121:1:
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”
Building the house of Yahweh can only be achieved by the power and authority of Yeshua and by His Spirit. The foundation was built before the foundation of the world by Yeshua, in love. Interesting that His trade growing up was that as a carpenter. He knows how to build and has taught us the Way.
By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one must be careful how he builds. – 1 Cor 3:10

Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. – Revelation 3:7-13
What are the seven pillars in Wisdom’s house?
Depending on where you are at in building your house unto Yeshua, you may either need to start from the ground up, or you may just need to strengthen what you have. Either way, please do not delay and do NOT let pride or religion stand in your way. If any of the seven pillars listed below are new to you, fret not. The House: A Glorious Church, a Bride Made Ready – What Church are you?
Beloved, this is the year to build or strengthen the pillars of your house unto Yahweh so that we can withstand that which is to come. 2024 is an election year for the United States of America. One way or the other, the trajectory of the nations will change. That which has been shaken since 2017 is about the be even more shaken. The entire world is in war/preparation for war mode and it is only by our Father in Heaven not lifting His finger off the button that is keeping it from releasing and unleashing more shaking. He has given us a window of time to get our spiritual house in order! 2024 ends a 7 year period of warnings and shakings. Next year will bring about a shaking that will sift the wheat and tares. It may appear as though our God has forsaken us, but for those who have the pillars of their house strengthened, they will know the Lord our God has not left us nor forsaken us. We will be able to know that His sovereign and righteous hand is doing a new thing. It will be these houses that can help others.

If you have not believed in your redeemer, Yeshua (Jesus Christ), I ask you to please consider surrendering unto Him. He is the only way to eternity in heaven. The alternative is real and not advisable. Pray and confess that He is the King of Kings, Lord of Hosts, and your Salvation. Believe with your heart that He did come to this earth from Heaven, in the form of a man, to teach us how to live a holy life. He gave his life up unto death on a cross (He is the Passover Lamb), bearing the sins of all mankind so that whosoever will believe in Him (not just believe about Him, but truly believe in Him—meaning becoming one with Him as He is with the Father), they will not die but will have eternal life with him forever more. He rose from the grave three days after His Crucifixion and revealed Himself to a multitude of people proving He is the resurrection life—He is the first fruits Festival. This death and resurrection was His ultimate display of love for you. When we lay down our sinful nature life and invite Him to rule and reign within us, we too can be raised up from death unto everlasting life with Him. If you want Yeshua in your heart, Pray with me:

I release it all to You, in the name of Yeshua (Jesus Christ). Teach me Your ways. Open the eyes of my heart and show me and help me to build Your house, my body, as a holy temple unto You, my King. You are holy and worthy of all praise and glory. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, Yahweh (Pentecost). Fill me with Your Truth! Fill me with Your gifts that you have destined for me to walk in. (Unleaven Bread) I cry out to You, Abba Father, in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Anointed King). Amen
