(Truly Redeemed and Sanctified in Him)
PLEASING THE HOLY SPIRIT

In December 2022, we posted a blog post called “A People Set Aside”. The post is about the book of Esther and how she, a common virgin woman, became a Queen by way of her purification process. When you read the post, you’ll see how the book of Esther was also a foreshadow of the coming King, Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Christ) and His new covenant church—and her purification process so as to stand before the King and him not reject her.
In recent months, the Holy Spirit has had us focus on the importance of pleasing the Holy Spirit as well as presumptuous sin. The two actually go hand in hand and a blog on presumptuous sin will be in a separate post. In this blog we will focus more on what that purification process involves to please the Holy Spirit, according to scripture. Consider this post as an addendum to the “A People Set Aside” blog.
The year 2025 brought with it a major shift within and among nations. Death and destruction across the globe is unprecedented for this generation. Lawlessness continues to the point that even non Christians are shocked. We have an entire generation of children growing up in a time of great deception as well as an adult generation divided by this same deception. Yeshua warned us that in the last days we must take heed to not be deceived and here we are (Matthew 24). Our minds are being manipulated into a political left, right, conservative or liberal thinking… pretty much anything other than the mind of Yeshua HaMashiach thinking. Yahweh is exposing it all.
We serve a sovereign God. In His holiness and sovereignty, He pulls rank above all darkness through His Light, Yeshua (Jesus Christ) and in the midst of deception, the world is simultaneously experiencing a revival of hearts. Multitudes of people from every tongue, tribe, and nation are receiving Yeshua HaMashiach as their God and Savior and baptisms are taking place by the thousands. Hallelujah! Yah’s ways and thoughts are higher than ours and sometimes a shaking must occur to wake people up to the realization something is gravely wrong in the world. Try as the devil might try, he and his minions will never be able to comprehend (or overcome) the light. The battle is real, the shakings are real, and the gospel of peace continues to multiply across the nations.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-5) NKJV
It is an extraordinary thing to be alive in a time such as this. For those of you who may still be straddling the fence, please understand that you are living in a valley of decision and you must decide what you believe and what god you choose to serve. Is it the gods of the world (comfort, money, fame, idols, fleshly temporal desires) that lead unto death or is it the One True God who offers eternal life? Time is of the essence for each of us and Yeshua loves us far too much to want us to perish. He is the only way, the truth, and life into eternity. We pray you will choose Life.
Promise of the Holy Spirit
When a person gives their heart to Yeshua and proclaims Him King over their life, they are given the promise of the Holy Spirit, and are born again (metaphorically speaking, they become spiritual virgins). Some get baptized by water and are immediately filled with the Holy Spirit, some may get filled with the Holy Spirit through an encounter with Yeshua and later get baptized. Either way, the promise of the Holy Spirit is there for all who abide in Yeshua. There are also some people who get water baptized without the full understanding and/or do not give their whole heart and they never receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit due to false doctrines that deceive them, heart issues, etc. but the promise is still there for those who will seek Him. I have to mention this in obedience to my King because many believe they have the infilling of the Holy Spirit because someone told them they do, but their worldly conduct demonstrates that they have not purified themselves to stand before the King of kings. They still have a foot in the world (straddling the fence/Laodician mindset). They are not born again of the Spirit because they are still walking in their old self. Beloved, following Yeshua is a lifestyle. For more on the Baptisms, click here.
In the book of Acts, chapter one, we read that Yeshua spoke to his followers after His resurrection and prior to His acension to the throne room:
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:4-8)
The disciples had walked with Yeshua, believed in Him, and they had been baptized in water, but the infilling of the Holy Spirit came upon them in a separate manner and they received anointings of power. Don’t misunderstand me, please. All Christians have the seat of the Holy Spirit in them, but until we surrender our will to Him and glorify Him, we must realize that He will not share His glory with another. He wants all of you. He created you for His glory, to be a holy temple unto Him, to worship Him in Spirit and Truth, and to destroy the works of the devil. Getting baptized in water is not an automatic infilling of the Holy Spirit. Yeshua’s followers stayed in prayer, in supplication, and in one accord and waited for the timing of the outpouring of the Spirit. It was their heart posture Yeshua was after, and the heart prepares the designated seat for Him to enter.
The Holy Spirit of Truth is the critical component of the godhead for believers here on earth. If it were not so, Yeshua would not have said that he must go but the Father would send a helper.
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these will he do, because I go the My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
If you love Me, keep My commandments, and I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, who the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. (John 14:12-17 NKJV)
Notice the three prerequisites in the two above scriptures for the Holy Spirit’s infilling/dwelling with and in you.
1) We must believe in Him and His Word (not just about Him);
2) Whatever is asked in His name (His identity as God) must glorify the Son (not glorifying self);
3) We must love Him and keep His commandments. Jesus said to His disciples:
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment, and the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 22:37-40)
The above scripture clarifies for us that if we give Him our all, we will naturally fulfill the ten commandments (Law) and we will have heeded the warnings of the prophets of old to return to Him with all our heart, soul, and mind. The word “shall” is a binding non-optional cause and effect word. Yeshua’s desire becomes the desire of our heart, and the sins and impurities of our heart disminish thereby making room for the fruit of the spirit to grown within.
Beloved, when we become born again, we are to understand the gravity that our redeemer, Yeshua HaMashiach, knew us before we were in our mother’s womb (Spirit to spirit). This means we also knew Him. Without this understanding, we will become stuck in our walk. When we were born of flesh (our mother), our spirit was ignited with Light from above at conception for the purpose of communing with Him here on earth. Satan does everything in his might to extinquish that light before it can be birthed and when it is birthed, he works overtime to extinguish it through deception.
Because we do live in a fallen world full of deception and secular knowledge, our Spirit to spirit connection gets suppressed. Once we recognize and acknowledge that our deception comes from our lack of divine knowledge of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and the finished work on the cross by our redeemer, Yeshua, and we return to Him, then we understand true repentance and our spirit groans, crying out for Abba, Father. We groan because we realize that He has never left us, but it was us who left Him. Yeshua and the Father are one and the two facets of Him have been standing at the door of our heart knocking and when we open the door and invite them in, they joyfully rush in to dwell within us by the Holy Spirit, the third facet of the godhead. Their divine power ignites within us and our works in faith can begin through our obedience to His will.
Many of you may (up until now) have felt that the below scripture seemed trivial or like a repetitious prayer, but with the above understanding, you can pray in faith and believe the ‘cause and effect’ prayer Yeshua gave us:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed is Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever.” Amen!
Yeshua did not give us this manner of prayer just because it was short and sweet. It has a powerful cause and effect when prayed in accordance to His will and it pleases the Holy Spirit because He activates that power within us. Beloved, now is the hour to come in agreement with the Spirit of Truth. We know not the hour nor the day we will be standing before the King of kings, the Almighty God.
Pleasing the Holy Spirit
In Yahweh’s infinite wisdom, he gives us history (his story) for us to learn from. Esther was a young virgin woman living in unprecedented times for her generation. She was a Benjamite orphan being raised by her older cousin, Mordecai. They were among the Israelites living as foreigners in the province of Shushan (or Susa), and said province did not fear Yahweh but served pagen gods. When the King of the Persian Empire had his Queen killed for refusing to come before him when she was summoned, a decree went out for the king’s servants to go throughout all the provinces and bring beautiful young virgins to the citadel, into the women’s quarters. The young virgins were under the custody of Hegai the king’s Enuch (aka the custodian of the women). Hegai would be their overseer throughout their beauty purification process which prepared them to go before the king. The king would receive or reject she who stood before him. Although this is a historical event that took place between 486-465 BC, we are to look for Christ in the scriptures and thus the spiritual parallels to Yeshua and the Holy Spirit can be viewed as follows:
When we read the parable of the marriage feast and follow Yeshua’s ministry in the New Testament, we see the type and shadow of Yahweh’s plan for salvation of mankind and it is remarkably beautiful.
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. (1John 3:1-3) NKJV
THE PURIFICATION PROCESS
Yeshua came and preached a message of the forgiveness of sins; and, by Him and His finished work on the cross and His resurrection from the grave, He became the first fruits unto eternal life. Everyone who believes in Him and confesses Him as the Messiah is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law (of Moses and/or the worldly ways). This means that one must come out from their old ways and begin a new sanctification/purification process to become a new creation in Yeshua. I think most have been taught this. Do you believe this? Acts 13:36-41 says:
“For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption; but He whom God raised up saw no corruption. Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you:
‘Behold, you despisers, marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, a work which you will by no means believe, though one would declare it to you.’
1. The first step is to believe and desire to learn what pleases the King Yeshua.
- Seek wise counsel from the Holy Spirit and he will send you someone with an authoritative understanding of the new covenant. Do not assume every pastor has this, as there are many wolves in sheep clothing and there are many who have not sanctified themselves. Test the spirit and ask the Holy Spirit to direct your path. The right person with have a heart for Yeshua and will care about your welfare and help train and equip you in the word so as to edify (or build you up) in Yeshua HaMashiach.
- Have a bible and be selective on which bible to have. If you are a new believer or are seeking more revelation, find a bible that is a study bible, as it helps in understanding the scriptures. The Holy Spirit is the ultimate authority and will reveal much more to you as you press in. Pray daily for the seven spirits of Yahweh, as they are key to revelation and your growth.
2. Believe in your heart that you are destined to become a Queen/Bride of the King and register your name. Yahweh shows no partiality, and in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. Remain humble, for you are not the only destined queen in the making. (Acts 10:34-35; Acts 10:44-48)
- Your name is written in the Book of Life and you want to show up and be in His presence– register your name so as to not be blotted out. When you are called to follow Yeshua, you will desire to leave the life you’ve known. You accept to live a life of purity which most likely will require you to accept a change of character and even accept a change of friends/family as needed to live a life of purity. This is a hard thing for many but you must trust God’s process of drawing you unto Him. Satan and his minions will do things to get you off course, but recognize it for what it is and say, “not today, Satan!”
3. Submit to the Holy Spirit and desire to please Him. He is the Spirit of Truth, your comforter and helper, and will teach you all things. (John 14:25-26, John 15:26-27, John 16:7-11). Obedience to the will of Yeshua is pleasing the Holy Spirit of Yahweh. Yeshua was so adamant about pleasing the Holy Spirit that in Matthew 12:31-32, he said: “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the ages to come.”
- Do not lie to the Holy Spirit. (Acts 5:3) But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” The Holy Spirit through Peter was testing the sincerity of their heart. The land was theirs to do with what they wanted, there was no need to lie about it. Sadly, greed, pride, or shame gives Satan a foothold. He is the father of lies. Let’s be wiser than the serpent, and have more faith with more integrity than Ananias and Sapphira had.
- Do not test the Holy Spirit through deception or conspiring with others. (Acts 5:9) Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said, “Yes, for so much.” Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord?” Also see Matthew 4:1-11 regarding the devil tempting Yeshua.
4. Appreciate the purification gifts. (John 3:16) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Yeshua’s blood shed on the cross for our sins was the finished work–the final sacrifice for our redemption and reconcilation back to Yahweh. It was the finest purification gift we could or will ever receive. Appreciate it with all your heart and do not take it for granted.
- Examine the impurities in your life. (Romans 7:18, Isaiah 6:5) There is a war between your flesh and spirit and only by the Holy Spirit can you be an overcomer. We will not be perfect people, but our hearts can be purified and the more purified we become, the more in His image we become. Repent where repentance is due and get back on the narrow path.
- Understand the benefits of purity. (Matt. 5:8, Psalm 18:26, James 4:8, 1 Tim 4:12) Learn the meaning of the Beatitudes and the blessings waiting for you. Only the pure in heart will see God. You can’t be pure in heart if you don’t know and apply God’s word to your life. Click here for more on the Beatitudes. We are called to be an example to the believers in word, conduct, love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.
- Don’t take for granted the oil in your lamp (Anointing) and do not misue it, reject it, or let it run dry. (1 John 2:27, Psalm 92.10, Matthew 25:1-13)) The bible was written to warn us of those who try to deceive us, but the anointing which you receive from the Holy Spirit abides in you and teaches you concerning all things and that you must abide in Him. It’s a two way street on a very narrow path meaning from the throne room to you (Spirit to spirit).
- Appreciate the sweet smell of wisdom and knowledge of God. (2 Cor 2:14-15, Hosea 4:6) Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triump in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place…
- Realize that you do not know the full mind of God regardless of how prophetic you are. You are not His counselor, so don’t tell Him what to do or what He needs to do for you. For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. (Roman 11:33-36, Proverbs 3:5-7, Matthew 6:33) Remain humble and grateful in all things that are of and through Him. The Holy Spirit will reveal to you what you need to know, when you need to know it. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.
5. Seek and receive the seven spirits of Yahweh and the gifts. These are spiritual provisions sent by Yahweh through His Spirit. Allow the favor of these to be poured upon you and out of you for the glory of the Son and the kingdom of God.
- The seven spirits of God –The Spirit of the Lord, Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel,s Knowledge, Might, Fear of the Lord. (Isaiah 11:1-2, Rev. 5:6, Est. 2:9) Proverbs 1-8 teaches us the importance of seeking these for living successfully and abundantly in peace. You will notice how the authors in the New Testament begin their most letters by praying for these. Click here to learn more.
- The ministry gifts – Prophet, Servant, Teacher, Exhorter, Giver, Ruler, Mercy (Rom 12:6-8) Click here to learn more.
- The edification ministry gifts – Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher (Eph. 4:7-12) Click here to learn more.
- Be a good servant with the gifts you receive, ministering to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (1 Peter 4:7-11)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and with out blame before Him in love,“
6. Accept the invitation to dwell in the best place. (Esther 2:9) Yahweh’s favor will be upon you and you will see it manifest in the natural.
- Although you are in this world, know that in Christ you are not of this world and you have full access to be seated in heavenly places with him because He is the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of heaven is within you. (read Luke 17:20-21)
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, and raised us up together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the age to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:4-10)
- Accept your wilderness experience. Every follower of Yeshua will have one, just as John the Baptist had one and as Yeshua had one, as did many who were came before and after Him. It’s part of the purification process to help you grow and become strong in spirit. There is testing involved to approve you in preparation of kingdom work. Make it a quick transformation through obedience. Don’t go around the mountain due to disobedience.
7. Rest in Yeshua. Know who you are in Him and just as He ceased from His works on the seventh day of creation, He wants you to cease from your works and allow Him to do a work in and through you.
For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Therefore, since a promise remains of entering into His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter My rest,’” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.” Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”
For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 3:16-4:10)
In closing, it is so important to Yahweh that we please His Holy Spirit. We pray you will take this to heart and share with others. As Christians, we are required to daily pick up our cross and follow Yeshua; and, yet so many do not hold sacred the precious gifts of Yahweh and they are walking in unknowing rebellion or presumptuous sin.
Until next time, blessings to you in the name of Yeshua and may you always know how much you are loved.
